As I wrap up this very stressful school year i feel such a relief. This year has been great for this class (kinda). My favorite thing that i was part of was volunteering at the Hope Center. There we got to pretty much do cleaning but every time we would go it just opened my eyes a little more to what is going on in the world. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be apart of this class even if i slacked off. I'm very grateful to have such a caring teacher like Mr. Large who is always willing to help you through anything hat you may need. Most teachers don't care enough but he does and has a very caring heart. As a reflect on this year, it's kinda tough for me because i really let go of myself. Towards the end i buckled down and figured my crap out but overall i'm just very thankful for the opportunity.

As my partner and I are continuing to work with the hope center we get the opportunity to help organize a 5k. As we are helping promote this we printed out poster to hang around the school. We are still volunteering weekly with the hope center. While we are there we do whatever we can to help out such as cleaning mostly. I'm very excited to see how this turns out.
As lilly and I were working with the Hope center, we wanted to do something a little more and try a raise awareness for human sex trafficking in our high school. We know of the movement called End It movement where people draw a red x on their hands and post it to their social media of some sort with the a #enditmovement. So we decided to set up a table in the main lobby and made announcement the day before about what we were doing. It turned out very well we ended up getting a lot of people.
This semester I started a new project with my partner Lilly involving the hope center. This is a center for girls who have been trafficked. The hope centers goal is to help the girls with really whatever they need. Lilly and I want to promote awareness for this issue since not many people know all that much about it. Lilly and I are also volunteering helping with whatever we can such as cleaning and organizing etc. I am very excited for this project because I know how big of an issue this really is. I'm very amazed at the work God is doing for this center and will continue to keep a weekly update of what we do and how we are going to promote awareness.
Well update guys, I decided to switch projects because the Swim clinic is not looking to bright. We have been waiting a while to hear back from all the sponsors and swimmers, so there is not much to be done right now. However my friend Lilly has decided to let me work with her and join her project she is working on. This project entails tutoring kids at the Yeshua society. We haven't worked out every detail yet but be prepared for an upcoming update on the new project.
We have ran into a little speed bump! My partner and I went to go talk with our swim coach Maxwell and as we were discussing the project with him he brought up some very good points, he informed us that there is already a swim clinic involving olympians. We realized that our chances of getting olympians to come out of the goodness of there hearts is very unlikely, even if we some how managed to get the olympians on board we would be overwhelmed with how people would come. So with all of that new information we are not going to scrap the whole project however we are going to change it. We have not worked out a lot of details on the new clinic but we are not completely set back. We did get our sponsor letters improved, which in another step forward! Pictured below is the already existing swim clinic.
The ball is finally rolling! My partner Anna and I wrote a rough draft email that the Ymca is approving now to send to our sponsors. We attended our Healthy committee board meeting over fall break, it went very well. The responses were good, and they also gave us ideas to help us have the clinic no matter the odds of getting the olympians to come and help out.
The ball is rolling! We went to the Ymca last Thursday to work out some details and figure out how we are going to get the clinic approved. We talked with executive directors at the building and went over what it was about and what we hope to achieve. They invited my partner and I to the Healthy Living Committee meeting on October 19th. We are very excited to see what happens next.
Welcome to my first blog post about advanced business management. So far I am really enjoying the class, it is great to have a little diversity in my school day. I am partnering up with Anna Doolin for a project, where the main goal is to have a swim clinic lead by an olympian. We decided to host this at the Ymca Anna works at (Fort Ben.). We still have a lot to figure out but we have some big goals for this project. We want to get a olympian (current or retired) to help us teach a swim clinic for all kids around the district. We hope to have two olympians willing to come help us. One to work on and build technique with experienced swimmers. The other one to teach kids how to be more comfortable in the water.
